Swimming Safely at Local Hotel

GDS100 Control SystemGroveley Detection has an ever growing presence in the O&G industry but it's engineers are busy closer to home too, maintaining detection systems at a hotel and country club swimming pool in Southampton.

The presence of people in a pool can introduce contaminants into the water so chlorine is added to maintain hygienic levels. Cloramines sometimes found in poorly balanced water are the cause of irritation and red eyes. In certain conditions extremely high levels of chlorine in the water may react and cause a release of gas which can lead to breathing difficulties.

However, the main risk is towards the person responsible for adding chlorine to the pool as inhaling chlorine gas is toxic and in some cases fatal.

The hotel uses the reliable GDS100 single point gas detection system to continually monitor for chlorine levels and prevent a build up of toxic gas within the plant room. Groveley routinely service the system to ensure round the clock protection for all personnel and pool users.
