Groveley Detection has launched a new universal gas detector, the GD42X, for flammable, toxic and oxygen gas detection. Typical applications are petrochemical and onshore and offshore oil/gas installations.
The unit utilises the versatile GD210 and GD217 flameproof housings for catalytic or electrochemical cells.
The transmitter provides a 4-20mA output and can be used in 2- or 3-wire configuration depending on detector duty. The unit can also be supplied with an optional field set-able relay output.
The housing has been designed to simplify site installation and is ATEX certified for use in hazardous areas zones 1 and 2. The enclosure boasts a wide ATEX-certified temperature range of -40 to +150 degrees Centigrade. And with one-man calibration, onsite man hours are reduced.
First sales were for hydrogen sulphide detection in gas turbines, hydrogen detection in battery rooms and oxygen-depletion detection in a nitrogen compressor hall.
