Groveley Detection Launches GD-RD001 Display With 1,000 Units To Middle East

Monday 27th November 2006

Remote Display UnitHazard detection specialist Groveley Detection has launched a new OEM display to provide live response on gas leak detectors - and has sold its first 1,000 units to Simrad Optronics for installation at the National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) of Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The GD-RD001 displays will be fitted directly onto Simrad H2S detectors for easier calibration and testing. The unit reduces maintenance time as it only needs one person to test a detector.

Groveley's Dr Eliot Sizeland described the GD-RD001 as a "versatile display to read and display a range of outputs for toxic gas, flammable gas, open path detectors - in fact anywhere a metered display is needed. Local displays are in high demand in the Middle East."

The unit screws into any Exd or Exe junction box with an M20 thread, it is flameproof, fully-viewable even in direct sunlight and weatherproof in temperatures from 0 degrees Celcius upwards.

It is particularly useful where open path or point detectors are mounted in inaccessible areas - the display can be connected and mounted at eye-level for easy inspection. Typical applications are onshore well heads and gas processing plants but can be just as easily used offshore, anywhere there is a likelihood of gas accumulation.

Groveley will now supply the display as standard within its gas aspirator cabinets.
