Groveley Detection has expanded its range of ultrasonic gas leak detectors with the launch of the GDU-Incus, an enhanced Ex d sensor unit.
The GDU-Incus (patent pending) has been developed by Groveley with four peizo electric sensors to function under extremes of temperature and weather conditions on petro-chemical plants anywhere in the world. The maintenance-free unit is fitted with a unique self-testing and self cleaning system.
The GDU-Incus compliments existing pellistor or infrared gas detection systems, together they detect a high pressure gas leak well before it reaches a potentially explosive build-up.
Ultrasonic is the only form of gas detection where the gas doesn't have to reach the detector - it 'hears' the leak in any weather condition. It minimises the number of detectors required, responds immediately and can cover a wide detection range of 20m or more.
The GDU-Incus instantly detects gas leaks operating over a wide dB range by 'hearing' the sound generated by escaping gas at ultrasonic frequencies rather than responding to specific values of LEL or ppm. It is impervious to wind, fog or gas dilution, is easily fitted and is fully adjustable from the control room.
