GD-A Aspirators

Aspirator ImageOur aspirators (also known as sampling systems) provide a unique solution to the complex problem of accurately monitoring gas and/or smoke ingress into areas where it is not practical or safe to position a detector directly.

Over 600 Systems Supplied Worldwide

Every aspirator is custom built from standard module components in our UK factory.

Our aspirators use minimal compression fittings which help to reduce maintenance costs by reducing path leaks. These compression fittings should never need altering, even for routine maintenance - no other aspirator supplier offers such a system.

If there is no instrument air supply a pump operated aspirator can be provided.

Combustible and toxic gas detection (as well as smoke detection) can be mixed in a single cabinet.

Self compensating duct probes can be supplied to provide an accurate representation of any duct being monitored.

Self Compensating Duct Probes

SCDP (Heated)SCDPs have been designed to allow simple representative sampling of duct environments. When used in conjunction with an aspirator they provide a complete duct sampling system capable of operating in hazardous areas.

No matter what the flow rate or pressure in the duct, a representative sample can be drawn from the whole width of the duct. The design ensures equal volumes of sample are drawn from each duct sampling point, before combining them prior to introduction to the aspirator.

Reverse Wing PrincipleReverse Wing principle diagram

The SCDP operates on the 'reverse wing' principle (see diagram on right). The contour of the SCDP creates and area of negative pressure on the opposite side to the airflow direction. The samples are drawn from this area behind the probe protecting the sample holes from becoming blocked by particles in the duct.

A heated SCDP has also been developed which can be used in temperatures from -400C to +1850C.
